Retinopathy of premature infants

In very premature babies, the vascular development of the retina is not yet complete. There is a risk of impaired development of the retina and its vessels. We therefore carry out regular screening examinations on children born before the 32nd week of pregnancy and/or with a birth weight of less than 1500g to monitor retinal development and to intervene early if there are any signs of complications.
