Our specialist tumor clinic focuses on comprehensive diagnostics and personalised care for patients with tumors of the posterior segment of the eye. Our service offers diagnostic imaging, encompassing ultrasound, OCT, and angiography. If required, the team is also equipped to perform diagnostic and prognostic biopsies. We treat the following intraocular tumors, among others:

• Intraocular lymphomas
• Choroidal melanomas and nevi
• Choroidal metastases
• Choroidal hemangiomas

The consultation is carried out on an interdisciplinary basis as part of the University Comprehensive Cancer Center Inselspital (UCI), in close cooperation with the University Clinics for Radio-Oncology and Medical Oncology and the Institute for Tissue Medicine and Pathology. Once the diagnosis has been made, the next steps and the optimal individual therapy are discussed together. This clinic at the Ophthalmology Department of the Inselspital is led by PD Dr. med. Florian Heussen, a proven specialist with fellowships in the field of ocular oncology.
